James F. Shields is a partner at Solimene & Secondo, LLP. Jim is the definition of a problem solver. For the last 36 years, he has zealously, ethically, and successfully represented hundreds of clients before judges and juries in every court in Connecticut, and successfully argued appeals in the Connecticut Appellate and Supreme Courts. His experience enables a thoughtful, and effective approach to solving his clients’ problems. Whether those problems relate to wrongful death, product liability, construction defect, premises liability, automobile negligence, employment discrimination or workers’ compensation defense, his experience, reputation, and tenacity enable him to solve almost any legal problem.
Jim has established a record of over 75 jury verdicts, more than 100 court trials and countless settlements in all manner of litigation.
While proud of his accomplishments in court and at the negotiating table, he is most proud of the satisfaction of his clients at the end of the arduous, and stressful journey through the litigation process.
Attorney Shields was born and raised in Wallingford where he and his wife Mauri raised their three children. He graduated from Albright College with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1982 and from the Quinnipiac University School of Law in 1985. When not practicing law, Jim enjoys woodworking and home renovation projects. Whether in the office or at home, he is always solving a problem.
